The Bespoke Process
Book an Appointment
You can choose to book a tailoring consultation via online or over the telephone. Booking an appointment ensures you have one-to-one time with a dedicated tailoring consultant in a private, relaxed space. Whether you are preparing for business, a wedding, or a special occasion, we tailor the process around you.
Initial Consultation
Your bespoke journey begins in our Lime Street store with a private consultation. Here, you’ll meet with your dedicated tailor, discuss your requirements, and browse through an extensive selection of the world’s best quality fabrics from mills such as Loro Piana, Dormeuil, and many more. From the outset, every detail from cloth, lining, lapel shape, buttons, pocket style and even hand-stitched finishing is selected to create a piece that is uniquely yours. Once everything has been agreed during the initial consultation, the bespoke process will begin, and your garment will be ready approximately 6–12 weeks later depending on the level of work undertaking.
Pattern Drafting & Cutting
Unlike made-to-measure, bespoke tailoring involves the creation of a completely new paper pattern drafted exclusively for you. Our cutters hand-cuts the pattern, fabric and canvas based on your exact measurements and posture, ensuring the garment is built around your natural shape rather than adjusted to it.
Baste Fitting (Full Bespoke Only)
For full-bespoke garments, a baste fitting is arranged 4-8 weeks after the initial consultation. At this stage, the garment is partially assembled with visible canvas, stitching, and rough seams. This allows your tailor to analyse the balance, drape and fit, in fine detail before the garment progresses to its finished form. The baste fitting is one of the defining hallmarks of bespoke tailoring, offering unparalleled accuracy and refinement.
Refinements & Further Fittings
Following the baste fitting, your garment is carefully taken apart and resttiched, incorporating every adjustment to achieve the perfect fit. Depending on the garment, additional fittings may be required to fine-tune the silhouette and styling.
Final Fitting & Completion
The final fitting is the culmination of the bespoke process. The garment is fully assembled, with the finest hand-stitched details, such as lining, button-holes and finishing touches in place. This is the moment when your suit becomes truly yours, a reflection of individuality and craftsmanship that cannot be replicated.

Like full bespoke, semi-bespoke garments are hand-drafted, cut, and stitched, but they omit the baste fitting stage. Constructed with a half-canvas, semi-bespoke suits typically have a lead time of around 6-8 weeks. This option combines artisanal methods with efficiency, delivering exceptional tailoring at a more accessible price point.
